St. John's Episcopal Church - Carlisle, Pa.

Adult Choir

The adult choir sings a variety of music from plainsong chanting and music of the Baroque period to contemporary Christian arrangements.  They rehearse weekly at 7:30 on Wednesday evenings from the end of August until June.  They sing at two of the 10:15 services each month in addition to a variety of other services during the year including Christmas Lessons and Carols, Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, and The Great Vigil of Easter. The Adult Choir forms the core of the singing group for The Boar’s Head 12th Night Festival and frequently presents a program during a late spring Sunday worship service.  The choir has performed pieces such as Brahms’ German Requiem and Faure’s Requiem.  In 2006, the choir performed Mozart’s Missa Brevis in G in honor of Mozart’s birth.  New members are welcome for all parts –  Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass.
