Safeguarding God's Children

The work of Safeguarding God’s Children is directed toward the restoration of right relationships within the community, through truth-telling, reconciliation and our baptismal covenant call to respect the rights of every human being. Relationships among people are at the foundation of Christian ministry and as such are at the center of the life of the church.  St. John’s is committed to fostering healthy and safe relationships through policies and codes of conduct that reinforce the strength and importance of personal interaction and the love and compassion we have for our children and youth.

Anyone in St. John’s who works with our children and young people must understand our policies and code of conduct that govern this work. Everyone in our congregation should be aware of what is appropriate interaction and report any behavior that does not appear to conform with propriety.

Please see the headings below for more detail about Safeguarding God's children.
