WELCOME TO ST. JOHN’S PRESCHOOL – HERE IS A LOOK AT THE STAFF

My name is Valarie Mast and I am part of the teaching team at St. John’s Preschool as the Director/Lead Teacher. I have a Master’s Degree in Teaching & Curriculum from Penn State Capital Campus. I received my undergraduate teacher training at Messiah College where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education. I have taught both preschool and kindergarten children in private and public schools. My husband Bob and I have four children: 12-18 years old. We have lived in Carlisle for 20 years since moving here from New York State. In addition to teaching and raising a family, I enjoy children’s ministry in my church, scrapbooking, and owning a small business. I have always loved children and especially enjoy their process of learning and discovering the world around them. I am pleased to have the privilege to share in your child’s learning here at St. John’s.

My name is Linda Kuffa and I am the Teacher Assistant at St John’s Preschool. Prior to joing the preschool, I have 15 years experience as a manager, trainer, and system administrator at what is now Centurylink. I also have experience as a Guest Teacher in the South Middleton School district. I have a BA in Business and Economics from Wilson College and I am currently pursuing my teacher certification.
My husband and I live in Boiling Springs with our two boys, 6 and 8. I love working with children and seeing them explore and learn new things. I am happy to be a part of your child’s learning experience here at St John’s.

My name is Andrea Kelley and I am the Lead teacher for the Tuesday/Thursday 2 1/2-3 year old program at St. John's Preschool. I have my B.S. in Elementary Education from Kutztown University. I taught for 4 years in second grade until my first child was born and I became a full-time stay-at-home-mom. My husband Craig and I have 4 children ages 6-13. I have taught a program at the YMCA for toddlers and I am actively involved in the Children's Ministry at my church. I also enjoy reading, scrapbooking, and spending time with my family. I am excited to be a part of St. John's preschool!

My name is Heather Rohrbaugh and I am a Teacher Assistant at St. John's Preschool in the Tuesday/Thursday morning class, and the Monday/Wednesday/ Friday afternoon class. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Messiah College. I have experienced over five years of substitute teaching in area elementary classrooms. My husband Tim and I have been blessed with three children (two sons, and a daughter) who are 13, 10, and 7. We live in Carlisle (where I have lived all of my life). I love to travel, experience new and unique restaurants, and I love to cook and bake, and shop. I stay busy keeping up with my kids' activities, volunteering in their schools, and serving in children's ministry at my church. I love to work with young children, especially witnessing the sparkle of excitement in their eye as they are engaged in their learning, and surrounded by their friends. I am excited to be a part of your child's educational experience here at St. John's, and I look forward to all the memories we are going to make together!
